- 2 tbsp. corn flour (cornstarch)

Topping

- 500 ml whipping cream
- 4 tbsp. icing sugar
- 1 basket of strawberries, washed

Method

Angel Food Cake

  1. Beat the egg whites until you get stiff peaks.
  2. Add sugar gradually while still beating.
  3. Add vanilla and almond extracts and cream of tartar.
  4. Mix the flour and corn flour together and add to the egg whites.
  5. Fold the flour in using a spatula.
  6. Grease a tube cake pan (Bundt cake pan) and empty the batter in the pan.
  7. The most important thing is to put the cake in a cold oven (not preheated).
  8. Start the oven on 170°C and bake for 50-55 minutes or until the cake is dry and golden from the top.
  9. Invert the cake on a rack or wooden board to cool.

Topping

  1. While the cake is baking, put the cold cream in a bowl and start beating with electric beaters.
  2. Once it starts to thicken, start adding the icing sugar 1 spoon at a time.
  3. Once the cream thickens well, keep in the fridge.
  4. Cut the strawberries in the middle and fill the middle with cream.
  5. Use chocolate vermicelli for the eyes and red icing for the mouth.
  6. Put the top of the strawberry on top of the cream like Santa’s hat.
  7. Once the cake is cool, cover it with cream and decorate with Santa’s hats.
  8. You can also cut the cake in the middle and spread cream and slices of strawberries.
